Tame Your Mind or You Become Your Own Slave

It is just as easy as touching your mind when you are likewise asked to tame it. Most often than not, the way humans think of taming things is in their ability to touch them or get a grip of those things, but it all appears to be an invisible puzzle when it comes to the matters of the human mind – how it’s always impossible to touch your mind!

Some try to do by touching their head, some their chest, and some just sincerely confess that they do not know where their mind is. This is because the mind, despite being the most active and effective human faculty, is immaterial or unsubstantial.

The human mind stands at the central space of our existence, such that it links the source of life to the channels of its sustenance despite being invisible… thus, ascribing the spiritual prowess to the mind is not illogical, since it is the only invisible yet acceptable and indispensable faculty in the human entity.

Get the gist; a man dies once the heart stops pumping. It is a substantial part of the human faculty, right? Yes! But one should likewise ask why we refer to the heart on occasions of belief and devotions; either to love, trust, hate, serve or to accept or reject a thing. This is simply because the heart is the source of life and the exact purpose(s) that we live for. The mind however, stands as the mediator through which these essences of existence find their inception into the human heart, as it possesses all the human senses as channels.

The Christian Faith (for instance) comes by hearing, the experiential philosophical man believes by sight and feeling, while the explorer in the imaginary world of widest possibilities conjures with their hands and legs crossed, eyes closed, head up, and brain set so piercing into thoughts like an antenna.

Whatever touches the abstract through the physical or vise vasa is convincingly influenced by the power of the mind. This why you need to tame your mind before you get enslaved by feelings, beliefs, thoughts, sights, touches, tastes and sensualities. (inclusive)

What comes to your mind just as you wake into a new dawn? Money, Sex, Pleasure, Love or Hate? Whatever finds a constant space on your table of meditation, becomes the song you sing, your hallucination, your daily aspiration or desire; and is vehemently capable of becoming your lord until you have tamed your mind – the reason you had a sleepless night because you allowed him a first kiss today. The reason you kept failing because your mum had ever called you a vacuum and you accepted it. The reason you will never be on time because you hate to be seen in the front – how you would hardly find the right words to express yourself – you stutter before a small audience because you have always named yourself the shy type.

What Then Can I Do to Be Free from the Slavery of My Mind?

Subtly, a truth lies steady at the dreg of all realities; that you hardly can exist without experiencing the function of the mind, thus; the need for a belief, an ideology or a view to life that keeps you going. It saliently becomes indispensable for you to ask which is right to follow….

Don’t get it twisted. You have an inner knowing; sometimes called the conscience, or the inner man, which sieves all information which pass through your mind by default, thereby giving you a knowing of what is supposed to be accepted or conceived or not, before it becomes a believe, and finally a drive towards action.

Your brain has a quick task of interacting with the mind on such occasions (the reason some persons confuse their head for the room of the mind). Here, you feel just what would be the resultant expression of that message when taken in and being carried out as a way of life. You see it – you know it – you imagine and even get emotional for it – you could cry, get drunk, sleep, get excited, masturbate or even fall sick for it. You are not abnormal; you are only under the control of your mind due to your inability to tame it.

The way to tame your mind therefore is to obey your inner man, before it gets tired of advising you and becomes dead or inactive; conforming to your desires. Obey your inner man, submit to the cultural tenets of your locale and the laws that guide it for sanity, put all messages that come through your mind through a test of the inner man and the belief in what is right, and never act when you are clearly not in charge of the channels of your mind.

Watch jealously over what comes in through the channels of your mind; the songs, the movies, the tastes, the touches and thoughts…

It’s best for you, when you are godly or Spiritual, for there is hardly any other wand that controls the human mind than submission to a Spiritual order. Simply test all spirit by placing them along natural laws of humanity and sanity, they can only contradict if such spirit is sinister. Hence, I hope you master your mind and find the freedom you’ve ever craved!
