We shout against the old men
For the pain and ache they brought us
We scream at their greed and weakness
But forget they were young too when they got there
Are we any different?
Gowon was just thirty and one
While Obasanjo was thirty with a nonagon years
Not forgetting Murtala with a septuple plus thirty
All created the legacy we so much hate
Those who were dishonest, falsified figures
Those who were ignorant, wasted treasures
Those who were power drunk, destroyed creatures
Yet, they were young and enthusiastic to rule
We must look within ourselves for the competent
Lest we fight for a mistake that'll cost us our breath
The criteria is not just being young
But being young with a vision deviod of corruption
Are we ready?
