Endsars: A Reawakening of Nationalism

By CM Olayiwola Femi

It is no news that the #Endsars campaign has littered all over the social media and the protests going on nationwide.
Celebrities, politicians and activists have commended and aired their support for the campaign.
Now is this a good trend of nationalism?
This gives a glimmer of hope that we can stand up. An impression is being stamped to show we can rise against the more ravaging issues of Bad governance ,corruption and restructuring, nepotism and infrastructural decay, holding our leaders to account.
We must remember that this sparks is what ignites the flames of nationalism just like in the pre independence era where the youths took up the mantle to change the status quo and attain independence.
Today also where nationalism seems to be at a low, it gives a great sense of hope that the people have re-awaken and have decided to take their destiny into their hands.
Like Aisha Yesufu popular saying "Every die na die, whether now or later". These protests will serve as a trademark for future agitations and quest for good governance.
